In the second episode of the BBC1 documentary celebrating 70 years of the NHS, Celebrities on the NHS Frontline, Rob Bentley, BAOMS Council member and consultant craniofacial surgeon at King’s College Hospital (KCH) and clinical director of the South East London Kent and Medway (SELKaM) Major Trauma Network, works alongside medical journalist Michael Moseley.
The show airs at 9pm on Thursday 5 July, the date the NHS was created, as part of the BBC series of programmes exploring what drives NHS staff to work as hard as they do and deliver outstanding levels of care.
Rob Bentley said: “I’m really proud that King’s OMFS staff have featured in the BBC programmes. It’s important to me to show what the skills and expertise of the specialty are and the impact they have on individual lives – sometimes working in exceptional circumstances such as major terrorist incidents.”
In the programme Michael Moseley sets out to discover what stops junior doctors leaving despite facing up to 18 years of training before they can become a consultant.
