SAC recruiting for new members in oral and maxillofacial surgery
24 October 2017
The Specialty Advisory Committees (SACs) vacancies for 2018 have just been advertised and they include two new members in oral and maxillofacial surgery. The deadline for applications is 3 December 2017.
The Joint Committee on Surgical Training (JCST) is the parent body for all 10 Specialty Advisory Committees (SACs), and responsible for all the surgical specialties.
Once recruited SAC members serve for five years, and the wide-ranging role that supports surgical training includes: providing advice to postgraduate Deans and Schools of Surgery; developing and maintaining of the surgical curricula; and recommending trainees for the award of the Certificates of Completion of Training (CCT).
All new SAC members attend a SAC Induction Day at the Royal College of Surgeons of England. There are about three to four SAC meetings a year that are held in London. Travel expenses are paid by the member’s hospital trust or health board.
If you have experience as a surgical trainer and a commitment to the NHS, find out more about the SAC vacancies or call 020 7869 6252.
