Enhanced public and patient information and resources for health professionals on the new-look BAOMS
16 December 2016
Improved visibility, easy access and a wealth of information resources targeted at the public, patients and healthcare professionals are now available following the launch today of the new the British Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (BAOMS) website.
“We need a platform to promote ourselves as well as a way of rapidly cascading views to help us develop and support best practice. I am sure the new website is a major step forward in achieving this aim,” BAOMS Honorary Web Editor Andrew Baker explained.
The new features include an enhanced public and patient information area as well as professional information for clinicians and healthcare professionals. The Members' area has a direct one-click access to the British Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (BJOMS) as well as discussion forums for Sub Specialty Interest Groups (SSIGs) such as oncology.
“Patients will find easy-to-navigate sections starting with information about what oral and maxillofacial surgeons (OMFS) do and how they’re the bridge between medicine and dentistry. There’s also detailed information about what people can expect if they have oral and maxillofacial treatment, and what they are likely to encounter on that journey,” Andrew Baker explained.
Healthcare professionals can access the latest OMFS news including courses, events, research and audit. The education and training section contains e-learning resources such as ProjecTrain. In addition, BAOMS Members can now reset their passwords securely via the Members’ login on the site.
“We do hope that you will enjoy using the new site and will take a look at the resources on offer,” Andrew Baker said.
