AOCMF Focused Symposium on Frontal Orbital Reconstruction Trauma and Malignancy 6 & 7 September 2010, Brandon Hall Hotel, Nr Coventry

 

This is a multidisciplinary course, involving neurosurgical, maxillofacial, ophthalmology and allied specialties, focusing on operative aspects in the fronto orbital region. The course is aimed at consultants and trainees across these surgical specialties. Distinguished local and international faculty will deliver an exciting and state of the art course programme and will share their knowledge and experience of trauma and oncology at the interface of these surgical fields.  At the end of the course participants will have developed practical knowledge and an understanding which will influence treatment and develop the way in which these complex patients are managed.

This course would be suitable for surgeons with an interest in trauma or oncology from the following specialties: neurosurgery, oral and maxillofacial surgery, otorhinolaryngology, plastic surgery, ophthalmology, A&E and the military.

COURSE FORMAT CHANGED
The course chairmen have altered the format of the course so that Monday 6 September will focus on Trauma and Tuesday 7 September will focus on Oncology. You are able to attend either day 1 or 2, or to attend both days.

7th International Quality of Life Conference at the Liverpool Maritime Museum - Thursday 4th & Friday 5th November 2010

 

At this years conference the workshop will be split into four sections:  (1) Thursday Morning - will provide an overview of ‘Patient Reported Outcomes', ‘Patient Concerns' and an update in Head and Neck since the last workshop.  (2) Thursday Afternoon - will look at functional outcomes (e.g. speech, swallowing, nutrition, PEG).  (3) Friday Morning - will look at the psychological aspects of Head & Neck cancer (e.g. depression, lifestyle , fear of recurrence.  (4) Friday Afternoon - will concentrate on the patient and carer perspective (e.g. information, diagnosis, treatment burden, finances and bereavement).

FPS-UK Dissection Course 10th and 11th of November 2010, Guy's Hospital, London

The course has been organised under the auspices of FPS-UK and covers the full spectrum of facial plastic surgery. We are combining presentations covering all essential topics with demonstrations. The focus is on maximising hands-on dissection of the fresh frozen cadavers. Invited speakers: International experts on HPV in HNSCC from MD Anderson, NKI Amsterdam and Pharma; UK experts on HPV, HNSCC and clinical trials.
