Trainees

Welcome to the new trainees section which has been developed in response to requests from both the Junior Trainees and Fellows in Training of the Association. This area will be mostly written by and for trainee members of the Association.

The Junior Trainees' Group represents the interests of trainees who are undertaking their second degree (BDS or MBBS) or are in BST/Foundation training posts. They are represented by the Members' representative but also, following recent discussions, have their own (also non voting) representative on BAOMS Council. The Junior Trainees web editor will be happy to consider additional information and updates for this section.  We will advise you of their contact details shortly.

The Fellows in Training group is intended for those who are enrolled in SAC approved training programmes in the UK. Fellows in Training have voting rights and representation on BAOMS Council. The Fellows in Training Web Editor, Samin Kumar, will be happy to consider additional information and updates for this section.

In addition, we are now pleased to offer a blog and forum for the exclusive use of Fellows in Training.  All you need to do is make sure that your membership is in the category of Fellow in Training and then login to the members' secure area.  From here you will be able to select Fellows in Training Blog or Forum from the list of options on the left hand side of the screen (the last two).  Please note the following and, since this is new, please do let Samin know if there are any comments or topics you wish to add.

Any additional comments and suggestions are welcomed at office@baoms.org.uk

Research

In these pages, you will find more information about clinicians who have undertaken a higher research degree including both FITs and Consultants.  It is hoped that trainees interested in research might be able to gain advice from these clinicians and also have an insight into the type of research undertaken.  Should you wish to have specific advice from any of these clinicians, you should email office@baoms.org in the first instance.
