Getting It Right First Time (GIRFT) report on Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery – statement from BAOMS
28 November 2018
British Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (BAOMS) President Ian Martin has welcomed the publication of the Getting It Right First Time (GIRFT) review into oral and maxillofacial surgery. He said: “We need to collect quality outcomes data in oral and maxillofacial surgery (OMFS) to ensure future funding for OMFS”.
The review links with the BAOMS quality outcomes project, Quality Outcomes in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (QOMS), that Ian Martin initiated earlier this year. The QOMS project will identify the best outcomes and then determine what care practices underpin the outcomes and disseminate that information across the specialty. The QOMS project goes live in 2019. More about the BAOMS QOMS project.
